Xuan Quang 1 Commune, Dong Xuan District, Phu Yen Province

On July 10th, 2023, the TMT Foundation returned to Central Vietnam to continue its meaningful journey of charitable giving, providing assistance to impoverished individuals and people with disabilities through a program called “Duyên Lành Gắn Kết”. The first destination in the foundation’s 2023 charity gift-giving trip was Xuan Quang 1 commune, Dong Xuan district, Phu Yen province, in Central Vietnam.

Dong Xuan is a mountainous district located in the northwest part of Phu Yen province. Xuan Quang 1 commune is one of the communes with a high poverty rate, and many residents face difficult circumstances. This area is home to ethnic minority communities such as the Bana and Cham H’roi, and their primary livelihoods involve agriculture, including cultivating sugarcane, cassava, forest planting, and animal husbandry. Due to the impact of storms and tropical depressions during the rainy season, many areas in Dong Xuan district are prone to flooding, making the lives of the local residents even more challenging.

With the approval of the local authorities, the TMT Foundation distributed a total of 300 gift packages to the impoverished and disabled individuals in the commune. Each gift package consisted of essential and useful food items, including 1kg of sugar, 1 liter of cooking oil, 1 box of noodles, 1 bottle of soy sauce, and 10kg of rice.

In particular, during this “Duyên Lành Gắn Kết” charity trip, the TMT Foundation also had the participation of the children of Mr. Tony Ly and Mrs. Magalie Albert – the President of TMT Insurance Company. We were pleasantly surprised to see these young children, despite their tender age, helping and showing love towards the elderly and those in need!
